USAID Tackles the Burden of Noncommunicable Diseases in Europe and Eurasia Region

In September 2011, the United Nations convened a high-level meeting on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), reflecting the growing international commitment to tackle the global NCD problem. Subsequently, there has been increasing focus on country-led implementation and global policy frameworks to accelerate prevention and control of NCDs. This report highlights ways in which the USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems project is working to tackle the NCD burden in Europe and Eurasia, particularly Georgia.
