File Type .pdf | File Size 279.5 KB

This success story details the struggle of Md. Anwar Hossain, a 38-year old father of two who hails from the Narayanganj district of Bangladesh. As an engineer at one of the country’s many textile factories, Anwar prides himself on supporting his family and helping his two sons gain a quality education. Last year, he was diagnosed with multi-drug resistant TB, treatment of which can require a patient to remain hospitalized for an extended period of time.

Thanks in part to the work of the USAID TB CARE II project in Bangladesh, Anwar was able return home after only a few weeks in the hospital and continue treatment supervised by his local care provider. Anwar is once again fully able to provide a livelihood for himself and his family and is happy to have a second chance.
