Implementing the Partnership for HIV-Free Survival (PHFS) Initiative in Uganda: Retention of Mother-Baby Pairs in Kisoro District Hospital

File Type .pdf | File Size 408.33 KB

Retention of mother and baby pairs in care at health facilities is a major challenge in the provision of quality HIV services. To understand the magnitude of the problem in Kisoro, the USAID ASSIST Project carried out a baseline assessment in May 2013. The review team, composed of the site quality improvement team leader, government district coaches, regional coach, and an ASSIST coach, checked the accuracy and completeness of the exposed infants’ clinical charts and the early infant diagnosis register and calculated the retention gap.
