Health Workforce Activity: Human Resources Improvement Collaborative in Niger

File Type .pdf | File Size 615.71 KB

The USAID Health Care Improvement Project (HCI) and its predecessor, the Quality Assurance Project, have worked with the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Niger since 2003, culminating in applying the improvement collaborative approach to maternal and child health care, with highly successful results. In 2008, the MOH and regional health authorities in Tahoua Region approached HCI for assistance in strengthening health worker performance management. This request created an opportunity to apply the collaborative approach for the first time to the management of health workers and link improvements in performance management with impact on the quality of care (2009, 4 pages).
