During August and September 2012, the Promoting Malaria Prevention and Treatment (ProMPT) project, in coordination with the Ghana Health Service and its National Malaria Control Program, worked closely with the Regional and District Education Officers in the Eastern Region to pilot primary school-based long-lasting insecticide bed net (LLIN) distribution. During the campaign, schools distributed approximately 181,600 LLINs to primary years 2 and 6 pupils. This technical brief provides a step-by-step overview of how this pilot approach took place.
