This document highlights the USAID Health Care Improvement Project (HCI) and its efforts in the development of minimum care standards for services provided for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Zambia. The national QI Task Team worked on the project to refine the OVC standards document and developed a strategy to pilot the standards to determine whether the document was feasible and effective. The report concludes with challenges observed and recommendations.
