Swaziland, USAID Health Care Improvement Project: Improving TB and TB/HIV Services (2006-2013)

This fact sheet describes URC's Health Care Improvement (HCI) project and key achievements in reducing tuberculosis (TB) and HIV in Swaziland. URC's activities include introducing a TB screening tool in HIV health care settings, TB/HIV screening and testing integration at health facitilities, and developed a strategy to better manage identify multi-drug resistant TB. Key achievements include: improved TB case detection, increased TB treatment success rates, and increased cotrimoxazole prophylaxsis  among TB/HIV co-infected patients.
