This report describes successful collaborations between the Tanzanian Ministry of Health and U.S. Government-supported partner organizations in the country, with the Quality Assurance Project starting infection prevention, pediatric care and family planning improvement collaboratives in 2003. Successful interventions from then to 2008 include the partnership for quality improvement of HIV/AIDS care and treatment, prevention of mother-to-child transmission through improved infant feeding practices, and building the capacity of and HIV/AIDS care conducted in hospitals.
