Strengthening Pharmaceutical Systems (SPS) Program

Overview

URC is providing technical support to strengthen pharmaceutical human resources planning, management, regulation, development, and performance in Afghanistan. The program seeks to strengthen the country’s regulatory system, improve supply chain management, build human resource capacity, enhance pharmaceutical services, and upgrade pharmaceutical information management. 

Key Activities

  • Designing and initiating a process for establishing a system and structure for the regulation of pharmaceutical human resources;
  • Strengthening and streamlining the pharmaceutical human resources information system for planning;
  • Integrating workforce projection models in the official planning process;
  • Analyzing and addressing performance gaps in government, NGOs, and other priority workplaces; and
  • Establishing a system and structure for accredited pharmaceutical in-service training.
