Malaria Surveillance and Laboratory Quality Assurance

The Malaria Surveillance and Laboratory Quality Assurance Program works to strengthen Ministry of Health data management systems for malaria surveillance and laboratory quality assurance systems for malaria diagnosis in Myanmar. Using Quality Improvement and Health Systems Strengthening methods, the program strengthens the central data management system and central diagnostic quality assurance system with the National Malaria Program and National Health Laboratory. In addition, the program supports the roll out of the updated systems to two states/regions identified with the Government of Myanmar.

Activities focus on:

  • Ensuring systems meet the needs of the National Strategic Plan currently under development
  • Strengthening the central data management system
  • Strengthening the central diagnostic quality assurance system with the National Malaria Program and National Health Laboratory
  • Supporting and training for the roll out of updated systems
