Job Description: 

URC’s Translating Research into Action (TRAction) Project, funded by USAID, is working to advance and legitimize innovative methodologies in implementation science that explore and explain why and how best practices work in particular settings and how these lessons can be scaled-up and translated to other settings. TRAction project is approaching its completion date on June 30, 2017. URC has been awarded Health Evaluation and Applied Research Development (HEARD) Project, funded by USAID, that will focus on conducting health research and evaluations for development, testing and refinement of new and improved tools, technologies, approaches, interventions and policies in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs) over the next five years.

Job Responsibilities: 

Tasks and Deliverables
The objective of the consultancy is to support TRAction Project activities in the areas of Public-Based Incentives (PBI), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and Health Data Collaborative (HDC); and to provide technical support to activities related to HEARD project, including but not limited to:

  • Support review and completion of all PBI studies technical products, including coordination of regular communication with study teams
  • Support development of two learning case studies and case study template documenting country processes for reviewing, grading, and utilizing data for decision making
  • Support execution of stakeholder survey on the current views of the 'nodal' clients for HDC and IRDS (Implementation Research and Delivery Science) on utility/value and accessibility of resources
  • Support development of HDC and IRDS investment analysis
  • Support development of Decision memo on study governance
  • Technical support to HEARD/ISC Project sub-regional consultation processes, as needed
Job Requirements: 
  • Master’s degree in public health (with a focus on global issues) or Master’s degree in international development
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in global maternal and child health issues
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience conducting research and data analysis
  • Experience with report writing and project documentation
