Bilingual (English/Spanish) Health Communications Consultant

Job Description: 

The Health Communications Consultant will play a key role in the conceptualization and development of a plan to promote a diabetes lifestyle prevention program in several communities in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop health communications campaigns to support the implementation of a diabetes lifestyle change program in several communities in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania
  • Adapt tools and materials and/or develop culturally and linguistically appropriate tools and materials to support participant retention
Job Requirements: 
  • MA in communications, public relations, health communications, public health, or public communications
  • 5 years of experience developing and implementing health communications and/or social marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cultural competence
  • Experience making cultural and linguistic adaptations to health communications messages and materials
  • Experience creating health communications messages and materials for Spanish-dominant populations living in the United States
  • Demonstrated understanding of health literacy and behavior change theories and principles
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish
  • Ability to present health intervention program benefits in a compelling manner to potential program participants and stakeholders
