Dr. Stella Mwita from URC’s Health Care Improvement Project in Tanzania was accepted as a finalist for the Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development, a development partnership which seeks to fund proposals that provide innovative approaches to protecting the lives of mothers and newborns in rural, low-resource settings.
Tanzania’s proposal, Access Project: Community Use of Mobile Phones and Peer Micro Finance Group, was selected as one of 77 finalists from more than 600 applications. Dr. Mwita presented her proposal at the DevelopmentXChange Marketplace in Washington, DC on July 27th.
Dr. Mwita is the Senior Quailty Improvement Advisor for HCI Tanzania.
