URC’s first of many projects in Malawi was Primary Health Care Operations Research, a project initiated by our non-profit affiliate, The Center for Human Services, to guide developing countries in strengthening their primary health care services. Upon PRICOR’s closure, this work continued with the Quality Assurance Project, a program that provided technical assistance and conducted operations research on health care quality improvement.

Our work has continued with activities supported by our expertise in several areas including: maternal, newborn and child health, HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, reproductive health and family planning, food and nutrition, and vulnerable children and families.

URC continues its work in Malawi through multiple projects to improve health care in USAID-assisted countries, strengthen their health systems, and advance the frontier of improvement science.
